Meet Your TrainersMichael Kelly, MS, C-NMT, CSCS, CCSMichael Kelly is the Director of Sports Medicine for LifeBridge Health and Fitness and Chief Performance Officer for the Performance Edge at LifeBridge. Mr. Kelly received his Bachelor of Science degree from Southern Connecticut State University and his Master of Science from Georgia Southern University. He serves as the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Crystal Palace USA FC, Baltimore’s only professional out-door soccer team. Mr. Kelly has worked as a consultant with the Crystal Palace UK FC in England to enhance their clubs current strength and conditioning program. Prior to working at LBHF Mr. Kelly worked as the Director of Cardiac Rehabilitation for Cardiology Consultants in Brunswick, Georgia and Instructed Nutrition and Exercise Physiology classes at Brunswick College. He spent 3 years with the U.S. World Cup Bobsled Team as a strength and conditioning coach and head trainer. Michael was recruited to conduct rehabilitative strength and conditioning programs for the 1994 U.S. Olympic Bobsled Team Trials held in Calgary, Alberta, Canada and the Winter Olympic Games held in Lillehammer, Norway. Mr. Kelly was the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach for Pace University in New York State from 1986-1988 under Coach George Meyer. In 1988 he traveled with the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) to the former Soviet Union to study under their top sports scientists and then again in 2000 to China to study their methods of strength and conditioning and rehabilitative medicine. Over the past seven years he has consulted with the NFL Baltimore Ravens and has worked with individual player post-rehabilitation programs. He is a Certified Neuromuscular Therapist, NSCA, Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and member since 1989, Certified Post-Rehabilitation Specialist and a Certified Acceleration Facilitator. Mr. Kelly is an instructor for the National Strength Professional’s Association (NSPA) in post-rehabilitative strength and conditioning, as well as, an NSPA Certified Conditioning Specialist. Michael serves as a Subject Matter Expert for the American Council on Exercise (ACE). In 2000, he was awarded the NSPA / Permalean / Free Motion Personal Trainer of the Year. Mr. Kelly has been featured in Golf Digest and Neuromuscular Therapy Update. He is a contributor to Men’s Fitness, Natural Bodybuilding Magazine, Oxygen Magazine and Web-MD. He has been a presenter for MACMA, Maryland Chiropractic Association’s State Conference, NSPA National Conference, International Association of Healthcare Practitioner’s National Conference, Medical Fitness Association’s Regional Conference, USOTC Athlete’s Conference and Many other local and regional presentation’s. Michael was an All-Conference High School Football player. He played College Football, as an outside linebacker, under Head Coach Kevin Gilbride, Currently the Head Offensive Coordinator for the Super-bowl New York Giants and Paul Pasqualoni, Head Defensive Coordinator for the Miami Dolphins. Michael played Semi-Pro football for the Bridgeport Buccaneers. He was an All-Westchester County High School swimmer and state qualifier in wrestling his senior year. He also lettered in Track and field. He competed at the United States National Bobsled push championships in 1990 and is a former Heavyweight Mr. Northeastern America bodybuilding champion and former competitive power-lifter. Mr. Kelly currently coaches his daughters U-16 soccer club.
